Location & Finding Dominor Fitness
Dominor Fitness sits in a central-ish part of Skopje – closer to the bus station than the Old Town area, making it a convenient option if you’re staying near the newer part of the city rather than deep in the historic quarter.

Day Pass, Session Prices & Membership Options
Dominor Fitness offers a flexible day pass and clear session prices depending on how long you’re in town, and unlike some gyms, they seem genuinely willing to work with short-term travelers on pricing.
Day Pass Prices & Session Packages
Dominor’s day pass price is on the higher side compared to some other Skopje gyms — but if you’re in town for a week or more, the session prices work in your favor fast.
- Day Pass: 500 MKD — pricier upfront for sure (but it is a very modern, well-equipped gym)
- Weekly Pass: 1,200 MKD (not standard, but they accommodated this when I messaged them on Facebook)
- 10 Sessions: 2,000 MKD (negotiated in person at front desk)
Worth noting: pricing seems flexible if you ask. Then it becomes very much worth it if you’ll be in the area for a few sessions.
Payment
- Cash only — for memberships and any front desk purchases (coffee, snacks, protein products)
- You’re issued a tech card to tap in/out of the gym for each visit; return it once you’re done with your sessions (they reuse them — nice sustainability touch)

Amenities & Facilities
Besides the actual workout equipment, here’s what you can expect from the Dominor Fitness facility.
WiFi
Works well throughout the gym — handy if you want to stream a workout playlist or podcast without burning data.
Front Desk Offerings
- Espresso: 70 MKD
- Energy bars: 150 MKD (they have the Barbells brand which is great quality)
- Protein powder available
- Protein bars: 2 flavor/brand options — not a huge selection, but decent
Locker Room
Genuinely impressive — modern and high-tech. Lockers use a digital code system: you close the door, input your own code, and you’re set (staff will walk you through it your first time).
Across the hall from the locker room is a separate room for the female toilet and shower — note that it’s a single locked room, so if someone’s using either the toilet or shower, you’ll need to wait for the whole room to free up.

Lounge & Rest Areas
- Multiple tables both inside and outside — nice for sipping a coffee before or after your session
- Bean bags scattered throughout the gym for resting in between sets (a fun, unexpected touch)
- Small dedicated tables just for setting down your water bottle
Flooring
Full grip-mat flooring throughout — no hard wood. Great for agility work and just generally pleasant to train on. Feels very modern overall.
What to Bring
Bring your own shoes and a towel. I didn’t see any equipment spray for wiping down machines after use, so you may want to pack a small towel just for that.

Gym Layout & Equipment
Dominor Fitness is one open space divided into clear sections.
Here’s what you’ll find in each area of the gym floor.
Dumbbell Area
- 3 benches
- Bicep curl setup with a curved bar
- Large dumbbell rack, small to heavy

Heavy Lifting Area
- Regular flat bench
- Incline bench
- Standing squat rack
- 2 Smith machines — one is a standard Smith setup; the other has hooks in front so you can rack a regular barbell instead (great if, like me, you’re not a fan of Smith machines for squats)
- Bumper plates available — these have a larger diameter even at lower kg, which is genuinely useful for floor-adjacent movements (kneeling/Zercher-style lifts, step-ups from the floor, etc.) where you don’t want the bar sitting too close to the ground

Sled Pull & Broad Jump Strip
A center strip for sled pull/push work. If you’ve never tried it, it’s a fun addition to a normal strength session.

Cardio
- 2 bikes
- 3 treadmills
- 1 elliptical

Machines
- Shoulder press
- Lat pull-down
- Adductor & Abductor
- Hamstring curl
- Leg extension

Accessories Corner
- Barbell cushions
- Foam rollers
- Yoga mats (soft and thick — better suited for stretching than an actual yoga practice)
- Kettlebells (4 different sizes)
- Additional dumbbells
- Box jump platforms (2 levels, on the smaller side)
- Pilates accessories and stability balls
- Assisted pull-up bands hanging near the captain’s chair

My Honest Review on Dominor Fitness
Overall, this is my recommendation for the best gym in Skopje — genuinely well-equipped, modern, with a great front desk experience and flexible prices if you’re staying longer and willing to ask.
The combination of thoughtful touches — reusable tech cards, bean bags, water bottle tables, bumper plates — makes it stand out from a typical budget travel gym.
Positive Feedback
- Modern, high-tech feel: digital lockers, tap-in/out tech cards, grip-mat flooring throughout
- Equipment variety: enough for a complete strength + cardio session, plus useful extras like bumper plates and a sled strip
- Flexible pricing: front desk was willing to negotiate a better deal for a longer stay
- Sustainability touch: reusable tech cards returned after your sessions
- Nice rest spaces: bean bags and multiple tables inside and out
- Good quality snacks: front desk energy bars were genuinely good
Common Criticisms
- Day pass pricing: more expensive than some other Skopje gyms if you’re only visiting once or twice
- No equipment spray: didn’t see any provided for wiping down machines — bring your own towel
- Locker room sharing: single locked room for toilet/shower means occasional waiting
FAQ’s about Dominor Fitness
Is it worth the cost of only a day pass?
This depends on a few factors like where your accommodation and your training style. There are some other solid budget gym options within the city center area. However, this one is much more modern and might suit your training needs (sled pull, bumper plates, etc.).
I personally only ended up training here since I was planning to be in Skopje for 10 days and I go to the gym multiple times per week.
Is Dominor Fitness suitable for serious lifters and athletes?
Yes — between the dedicated heavy lifting area, Smith machines, bumper plates, and dumbbell selection, there’s enough here for a serious strength training session, not just a casual workout.
Can I pay by credit card at Dominor Fitness?
No — it’s cash only (Macedonian Denar) for both memberships and any front desk purchases like coffee, snacks, or protein products.
How does Dominor Fitness compare to other gyms in Skopje?
Dominor is noticeably more modern than many other Old Quarter-area options — from the grip-mat flooring to the digital locker system. Other Skopje gyms may have cheaper day passes, but tend to be older in style.
Final Thoughts on Dominor Fitness
Here’s the Rundown: Dominor Fitness is my recommendation for the best gym in Skopje, with a modern, well-equipped setup for travelers wanting to maintain their strength training routine.
With flexible session packages, thoughtful amenities, and a genuinely helpful front desk, it removes many of the usual friction points that come with finding a solid gym on the road.
The combination of equipment quality, facility design, and willingness to work with short-term visitors makes it a strong pick — especially if you’re staying in Skopje for more than a couple of days.
